The Power of Prayer

I believe in the power of prayer. Many times after my diagnosis, surgery and treatments I would be feeling low and then suddenly my spirit would lift. I credit it to someone who must have been praying for me at that specific time. I cannot tell you what a comfort it is to know that someone has taken the time to lift me up to the Lord and ask Him to take care of me. On that note, my heart has been burdened for two friends that need our prayers.

First is for Thomas, who was recently in a car accident. In consideration of his family’s wishes I won’t go into much detail, but I can tell you that he is a young man that will be entering his senior year of high school this fall. He made it though the accident with minor physical injuries but emotional ones that will last him a lifetime. The 19 year old male driver of the other vehicle involved passed away the evening of the accident. This young man, Nathan, that passed away was a Christian and was welcomed home to live with his heavenly Father. Thomas and his family have been through a lot in the past few years. Just five short years ago they lost their husband/father after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Thomas needs you to send a message to God to lift him up in this time of trouble. Please pray with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift Thomas up to You our Lord that You can grant him peace, strength and healing to get him through this tragedy. We pray for all his family and friends and ask You to surround him with love, kindness and support from them. We pray for Nathan’s family that they have peace knowing that he is in Your heavenly arms and dancing in heaven. We thank You for the faith both of these boys and families have in You and trust in Your plan and that all this will be for the glory of you God. Thomas and his family have endured such hardship we ask that from here on out they are blessed with an out pouring of Your love. Use them oh Lord, as examples of Your healing powers, that You reign above all and that even in the mist of our suffering You are forever good.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Secondly, I ask for prayers for Kim Carsen who recently was diagnosed with colon cancer. Kim is an amazing young woman who recently spoke out about her cancer publicly to help others that are fighting the same fight. She underwent surgery last week and I am still waiting to here the prognosis. Her spirits are high and she is a fighter, she recently lost over 100 pounds and physically (other then the cancer of course) is in the best shape ever. Please pray with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You stand with Kim during this fight and that You heal her physically and emotionally. Please grant her peace, healing, strength and grace as she walks this journey with You. Let it be a time that strengthens her faith in You and show this world that You are a glorious God.

In Jesus name, Amen.

I know personally what amazing prayer warriors you all are and ask that you please take the time to pray for my friends. I promise not to use this blog as my personal prayer chain, but I have been burdened so heavily with the news of these two kind souls and felt God pushing me to write this blog.

As for me, I am doing well! Today I finished round 12 and only have 4 more chemo treatments left! This journey has been amazing and I have to say it has changed my life for the better. That may sound strange but it has, and I have all of you to thank. Stay tuned I promise there are more uplifting post to come.

Love,

Kristine
